OTHER FORCIBLE SEX CRIMES

NOTE
Since this category is not a part of the national or state crime index, the data have been included in this section separately, rather than being displayed with the index crimes.

DEFINITION
The category of other forcible sex crimes is composed of forcible sodomy (oral or anal intercourse), sexual assault with an object (the insertion of any object into the anal or genital opening of a person’s body), and forcible fondling (the touching of the private body parts of another person for sexual gratification). These crimes are committed forcibly and without consent, or in cases in which a person is mentally incapable of giving consent. Attempts are counted. Forcible rape is not included in this category.
